Syndi's Baking Powder Biscuits

  • 2 C all purpose Flour
  • 1 T. Baking powder
  • ½ t. salt
  • ⅓ c. shortening
  • ¾ c. milk
  1. In medium sixed mixing bowl, stir together flour, baking powder, and salt. Using pastry blender cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crubs. Make a well in the center of the mixture and add milk all at once. Using a fork, stir just until moistened.
  2. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Quickly knead dough (10-12 folds) until nearly smooth. Pat or lightly roll dough to ½ in thick. Cut dough with a floured 2.5 inch biscuit cutter
  3. Place biscuit 1 inch apart on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 450 *F for 10-12 minutes or until golden. Remove biscuits from baking sheet and serve hot (makes 10 biscuits).
